Maitland's Britton Oconnell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Alcock in the 5th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Humphrey Wilde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maitland's supporters rose to their feet, but Humphrey Wilde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kale Wilde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jenkins Busst got free with Britton Oconnell in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Britton Oconnell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chuck Oconnell in the 12th minute of the match. Humphrey Wilde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kale Wilde came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Maitland's Payton Hamilton. But to his dismay, Payton Hamilton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jenkins Busst could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Britton Oconnell made a huge save. Humphrey Wilde struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Kale Wilde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maitland. Britton Oconnell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neal Howie in the 28th minute. Britton Oconnell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dean Alcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kale Wilde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Payton Hamilton in the 33rd minute of the match. Rufus Mapps could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Britton Oconnell made a huge save. 42 minutes into the game, Payton Hamilton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Kale Wilde was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kale Wilde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Payton Hamilton in the 47th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chuck Oconnell to strike the kick off in the second half. When Humphrey Wilde came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Maitland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humphrey Wilde couldn't finish the play. 56 minutes into the match, Dean Alcock notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Maitland's Britton Oconnell. Britton Oconnell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 60 minutes into the match, HC Kings's goalkeeper Kale Wilde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Payton Hamilton. After 63 minutes, Jenkins Busst mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the HC Kings and the Maitland players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, HC Kings was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jenkins Busst to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute of the match HC Kings got a corner. Maitland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kyle Allcock ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led HC Kings's Kyle Allcock to fire away a dangerous shot which Britton Oconnell despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Payton Hamilton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kale Wilde having to interfere. Kale Wilde made an important save on a dangerous shot by Payton Hamilton in the 83rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Payton Hamilton kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kale Wilde. That made the score 2-3 in the 88 minute of play. If Humphrey Wilde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maitland's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
