Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Mark Renney kicked off to start the match. In the 5th match minute, Maitland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Mealmaker to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Maitland defense, Nathan Huther kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Britton Oconnell. The Maitland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Britton Oconnell should have stopped the shot. In the 16th minute of the match Alfred Christian sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Britton Oconnell skillfully saved the ball. With his leg Nichol Heys managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Maitland's Payton Hamilton fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Maitland defense, Mark Renney kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Britton Oconnell. The Maitland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Britton Oconnell should have stopped the shot. After 30 played minutes Maitland got a freekick which was hit by Birrell Duncan. After recieving a nice pass, Pinnaroo's Earle Holdsworth tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Angus Freeman's late challenge caught a Pinnaroo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Angus Freeman helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Maitland getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Angus Freeman hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Mark Renney ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Britton Oconnell was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. A collision led to Maitland getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Dalton Norman hit a great ball. Dalton Norman kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Nathan Huther managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pinnaroo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nathan Huther was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Payton Hamilton made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nathan Huther got free with Britton Oconnell in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Britton Oconnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jared Maddern, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute, Birrell Duncan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Britton Oconnell didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jared Maddern went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Britton Oconnell was a little too slow when Ernest Trevena got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 0-5. After 70 played minutes Pinnaroo got a freekick which was hit by Jared Maddern. Britton Oconnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Renney, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Britton Oconnell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathan Huther in the 80th minute. Maitland's Britton Oconnell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Maitland from getting a goal against them. 85 minutes into the match, Mark Renney dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Britton Oconnell, 0-6. The supporters of Maitland booed when Pinnaroo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Trevena didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Pinnaroo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
