Spectators: 8444 (Terracing: 6334, Seating: 1942, VIP seats: 168) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kirby Lyle got the match started through his kick off. In the 7th minute, Carmichael Cooney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kirby Lyle in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Groves, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Bernard Babbage fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bjorn Salcedo having to interfere. The supporters of Wietalaba booed when HASTINGS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Meyer Pavkovic didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brockman Stevenson charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brockman Stevenson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rudy Limmer in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bjorn Salcedo saved HASTINGS FC from getting behind. Bjorn Salcedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernard Babbage in the 25th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Rudy Limmer sped through HASTINGS FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bjorn Salcedo. When Brockman Stevenson came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Wietalaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brockman Stevenson couldn't finish the play. 38 minutes into the match, Bernard Babbage notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of HASTINGS FC's Bjorn Salcedo. Bjorn Salcedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in HASTINGS FC's zone, Rudy Limmer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bjorn Salcedo came out of the goal and Rudy Limmer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rudy Limmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bjorn Salcedo having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Rudy Limmer made the kick off in the second half. Bernard Babbage kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Brockman Stevenson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Rudy Limmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Bernard Babbage managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wietalaba's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernard Babbage was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bjorn Salcedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 61 minutes, Kelvin Mcmahon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HASTINGS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kelvin Mcmahon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kelvin Mcmahon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Groves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. In the 66th match minute, HASTINGS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Meyer Pavkovic to maneuver through the defense. Wietalaba's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rudy Limmer in the 68th minute. 71 minutes into the match, HASTINGS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rudy Limmer came free, but Bjorn Salcedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernard Babbage's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bjorn Salcedo firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Bernard Babbage, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 72 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Bjorn Salcedo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Rudy Limmer came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Wietalaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudy Limmer couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Groves came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by HASTINGS FC's Kirby Lyle. But to his dismay, Kirby Lyle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 80th minute Rudy Limmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bjorn Salcedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernard Babbage took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bjorn Salcedo. Bjorn Salcedo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. After having played for 85 minutes, Rudy Limmer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wietalaba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudy Limmer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Groves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kirby Lyle in the 88th minute of play. Rudy Limmer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Bernard Babbage had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wietalaba played a much better game than HASTINGS FC and deserved their victory. The HASTINGS FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
