Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Murphey Muddle made the kick off and thus started the match. The Glenferrie fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Glenferrie's goal looked a bit too open when Mark Renney came free, but Benney Maddern reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nichol Heys came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Glenferrie's Broderick Munster. But to his dismay, Broderick Munster quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 21st minute, Alfred Obrien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Broderick Johnston took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nichol Heys. Nichol Heys dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Broderick Johnston kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The supporters of Pinnaroo booed when Glenferrie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Broderick Munster didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benney Maddern took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mark Renney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nichol Heys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braedan Paull, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When Mark Renney fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pinnaroo's protests and gave Mark Renney a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Glenferrie booed when Pinnaroo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Renney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pinnaroo's Nichol Heys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edison Pearman in the 38th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, Pinnaroo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfred Christian to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute of the match Broderick Johnston sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nichol Heys skillfully saved the ball. When Glenferrie's Murphey Muddle in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pinnaroo's goalie prevented a goal. When Mark Renney was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 46 minutes had been played. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nathan Huther made a kick off. When Corey Haslett came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Glenferrie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Corey Haslett couldn't finish the play. Carmichael Cootes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Nichol Heys tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 54 minutes, Broderick Johnston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glenferrie's supporters crossed their fingers, but Broderick Johnston was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 55th minute by Broderick Johnston got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edison Pearman in the 58th minute of play forced Pinnaroo's goalkeeper Nichol Heys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Murphey Muddle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nichol Heys was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. After 61 minutes, Ernest Trevena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pinnaroo and the Glenferrie players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 61st match minute, Pinnaroo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernest Trevena to maneuver through the defense. Murphey Muddle's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Nichol Heys skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Glenferrie getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Alfred Obrien hit a great ball. The supporters of Pinnaroo booed when Glenferrie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corey Haslett didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Glenferrie's Broderick Munster got a free kick in the 81st minute. Benney Maddern took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathan Huther, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nathan Huther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Pinnaroo getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Ernest Trevena hit a great ball. When the final whistle sounded Glenferrie left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pinnaroo.
