The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute, Craig Mcmahon fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Davey Curtis, passed just outside the right post. If Craig Mcmahon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Yielima's goal looked a bit too open when Quincy Fitzsimmons came free, but Everett Morey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Burtt Ceney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Everett Morey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quincy Fitzsimmons in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute Antonia Fessey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everett Morey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 minutes, Darley Woods mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pensioners 2.0 and the Yielima players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pensioners 2.0's Darley Woods got a free kick in the 20th minute. The audience was convinced that Darley Woods's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Everett Morey was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. In the 23rd minute Quincy Fitzsimmons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everett Morey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During this time Yielima's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Burtt Ceney almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pensioners 2.0's Davey Curtis did a great save. Craig Mcmahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pensioners 2.0's Quincy Fitzsimmons got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 57th minute, Craig Convine got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Craig Mcmahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Yielima's Casper Smalley got a free kick in the 59th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Berry Pickhills got free with Everett Morey in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute Andrew Norden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everett Morey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 63 minutes, Ethan Flisfeder mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yielima and the Pensioners 2.0 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Yielima's Everett Morey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quincy Fitzsimmons in the 72nd minute of play. Davey Curtis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Craig Mcmahon in the 74th minute of play. Davey Curtis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Craig Convine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yielima's Burtt Ceney suffered a sore thigh after 78 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Darley Woods was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. Craig Convine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davey Curtis having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
