After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Matthias Renny managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ridgley's supporters rose to their feet, but Matthias Renny was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Russ Macumber breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Earnest Algoud got free with Russ Macumber in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ridgley booed when Millfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Adamson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Earnest Algoud recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Russ Macumber. Earnest Algoud showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Martin Legg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Corey Wilde's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Matthias Renny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Millfield's Corey Wilde got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Earnest Algoud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Russ Macumber tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Matthias Renny kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Russ Macumber. That made the score 2-0 in the 36 minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Jacob Connolly could shoot a difficult shot in the 43rd minute, which Russ Macumber however easily saved by the left post. 44 minutes into the match, Millfield's goalkeeper Russ Macumber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Earnest Algoud. After a defensive mix-up in Millfield's zone, Earnest Algoud stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Russ Macumber came out of the goal and Earnest Algoud tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Corey Wilde to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Earnest Algoud got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Steve Adamson struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Martin Legg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Millfield. In the 58th match minute, Ridgley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Earnest Algoud to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Corey Wilde got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Russ Macumber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Earnest Algoud in the 63rd minute of the match. Russ Macumber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Earnest Algoud in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Jacob Connolly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Earnest Algoud might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Russ Macumber. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Earnest Algoud ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matthias Renny during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 74th minute, Matthias Renny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80thth minute of the game Earnest Algoud who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Millfield's Russ Macumber was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ridgley's Matthias Renny got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Earnest Algoud managed to get in a good position for a shot.
