Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gary's Everitt Johnston got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cullen Batterham made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Angelo Hunn sent off a good shot on target. After 16 minutes Gary's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Richard Diefenbach who took care of the corner kick. Richard Diefenbach made a great header on Poonarunna's corner, it was just that Gary's Cullen Batterham managed to reach the ball for a save. If Richard Diefenbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlisle Laughton in the 27th minute of play forced Poonarunna's goalkeeper Andres King to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes in the game Carleton Beaverley did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Bjorn Hopkins. In the 30th minute, Belton Durbridge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Poonarunna's Andres King played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnold Conlin in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Poonarunna's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrizio Schulzte came free, but Andres King reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute of the match Gary got a corner. Poonarunna's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alford Johnston ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Poonarunna's goalie and right to Arnold Conlin. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Poonarunna's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. A collision led to Poonarunna getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Jerrard Hinder hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlisle Laughton to strike the kick off in the second half. Andres King made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnold Conlin in the 53rd minute. Poonarunna's Andres King proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Poonarunna from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Arnold Conlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andres King saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jerrard Hinder fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poonarunna's protests and gave Jerrard Hinder a yellow card for diving instead. Alford Johnston succeeded in the game's 58th minute to get real power on a long shot . Poonarunna's Andres King hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-1! An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Tongs in the 62nd minute of play forced Poonarunna's goalkeeper Andres King to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Gary getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Fabrizio Schulzte hit a great ball. After 64 played minutes Gary got a freekick which was hit by Fabrizio Maslin. Jerrard Hinder hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 76 minutes in the game, Fabrizio Schulzte fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Andres King having to interfere. Cullen Batterham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Diefenbach in the 85th minute of the match. Carlisle Laughton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 90 minutes, Payne Warhurst mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poonarunna and the Gary players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th match minute, Poonarunna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Payne Warhurst to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Hunn hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Carleton Beaverley kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Fabrizio Schulzte came free with the goalkeeper in the 96th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Andres King could save by the left post.
