With his leg Peter Algoud managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when Perth Glory's Oliver Aliendi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 1-0 became the score in the 13th minute when Ned Rowdon elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oliver Aliendi got free with Peter Algoud in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Perth Glory's Ned Rowdon was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 26th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Perth Glory's Ned Rowdon got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Hedges's zone, Oliver Aliendi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Algoud came out of the goal and Oliver Aliendi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute of the match, Oliver Aliendi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Peter Algoud was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Oliver Aliendi scored 3-0 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter Algoud, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Perth Glory getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Ned Rowdon hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Perth Glory's Corder Pavkovic ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Peter Algoud. Peter Algoud yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marshal Aliendi to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Oliver Aliendi put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Peter Algoud. When Corder Pavkovic fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Perth Glory's protests and gave Corder Pavkovic a yellow card for diving instead. After 56 played minutes Perth Glory got a freekick which was hit by Corder Pavkovic. Peter Algoud didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ned Rowdon went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. After 72 played minutes, Hedges's Bill Triplett shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rudy Schultz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hedges reached it. 78 minutes into the match, Stew Tenser had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Peter Algoud. Hedges's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stew Tenser was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. 85 minutes into the game, Alan Blestowe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perth Glory's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hedges the free kick. In the 85th match minute, Perth Glory was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Blestowe to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Paul Mudie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Perth Glory fully deserved thier win.
