Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Eavan Missen started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute Eavan Missen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albert Simpson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grant Bundy's late challenge caught a Flinders's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Grant Bundy helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eavan Missen in the 8th minute of play forced Burrowye's goalkeeper Albert Simpson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Casper Obree had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albert Simpson. Burrowye's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Casper Obree was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Quincy Shortis hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Everitt Goodward got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albert Simpson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eavan Missen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundson Goodwin charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edmundson Goodwin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Flinders's Edmundson Goodwin got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Albert Simpson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eavan Missen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Flinders's goalkeeper Brynn Staggard had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grant Bundy. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hale Bromfield during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes Burrowye got a freekick which was hit by Hale Bromfield. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eavan Missen in the 37th minute of play forced Burrowye's goalkeeper Albert Simpson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grant Bundy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albert Simpson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eavan Missen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonty Schulze kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Everitt Goodward struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Albert Simpson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flinders. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Grant Bundy to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Flinders got a freekick which was hit by Alford Rhoades. After recieving a nice pass, Burrowye's Grant Bundy tried to score from far away in the 52nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 60th minute, Davey Haslem left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flinders fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some careless play in the Burrowye defense, Davey Haslem kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albert Simpson. The Burrowye fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albert Simpson should have stopped the shot. Grant Bundy blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brynn Staggard having to make a save. In the 78th match minute, Burrowye was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Mclatchey to maneuver through the defense. Flinders's Everitt Goodward couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Burrowye. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Albert Simpson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Grant Bundy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Brynn Staggard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundson Goodwin got free with Albert Simpson in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Grant Bundy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flinders's Hale Heath shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 97th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Albert Simpson but with some difficulty.
