The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Bishop Weatherby came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Dunvegan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bishop Weatherby couldn't finish the play. In the 5th match minute, Kramer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Houldsworth to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bryson Newham in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brand Trevena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th minute, Brynn Grieve got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th minute, Buck Fordham hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eddy Hanlen struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Tiger Mealmaker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kramer. Peter Houldsworth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Tiger Mealmaker made a huge save. When Peter Houldsworth got free in front of the goal in the 27th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Tiger Mealmaker was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Kramer's zone, Bryson Newham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brand Trevena came out of the goal and Bryson Newham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryson Newham in the 43rd minute of play forced Kramer's goalkeeper Brand Trevena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Dunvegan were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eddy Hanlen to strike the kick off in the second half. Brand Trevena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryson Newham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
