An unexpectedly hard shot by Wojciech Czeszejko in the 5th minute of play forced Brisbane FC's goalkeeper Burns Notley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brisbane FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Malcolm Chute scored to the left of an out of position Burns Notley, making the score, 2-0. Malcolm Chute hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Wojciech Czeszejko took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Burns Notley to make any attempt to save it. In the 34th minute, Tresco's Wojciech Czeszejko dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-0. 36 minutes into the match, Brisbane FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clarke Whelpton came free, but Burns Notley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brisbane FC's Burns Notley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clarke Whelpton in the 39th minute of play. Burns Notley came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Tresco's Bryson Willding. But to his dismay, Bryson Willding quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. 45 minutes into the game, Tresco's Wojciech Czeszejko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Burns Notley made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Burns Bennett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Burns Notley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clarke Whelpton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Brisbane FC's goal looked a bit too open when Clarke Whelpton came free, but Burns Notley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brisbane FC's Danny Terris quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Burns Notley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malcolm Chute, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Biddle Sparks kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 81st minute Wojciech Czeszejko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burns Notley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A throw-in in the 84th minute of the game was made by Bill Gissane with Bryson Willding as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Brisbane FC booed when Tresco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bryson Willding didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Wojciech Czeszejko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Burns Notley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Brisbane FC booed when Tresco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Ove Henriksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paco Greenbank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Max Freeman having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Tresco players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
