A collision led to Red Devils United getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Archie Clubley hit a great ball. After 4 played minutes, Hagley's Bradford Hands shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Barnes Hunter came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hagley reached it. Roy Mudie hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 8 minutes into the match, Bern Pears had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kevin Pearce. Hagley's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bern Pears was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Barnes Hunter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brock Bodimeade in the 13th minute of the match. Bruno Arkinstall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Pearce having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Arkinstall in the 21st minute of play forced Hagley's goalkeeper Kevin Pearce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Red Devils United's Bern Pears got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barnes Hunter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brock Bodimeade in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute of the match, Bern Pears got a very nice opportunity to score, but Kevin Pearce was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Red Devils United's goalkeeper Barnes Hunter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Byrne Dowsing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, Red Devils United's goal looked a bit too open when Brock Bodimeade came free, but Barnes Hunter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bern Pears recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bruno Arkinstall blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kevin Pearce having to make a save. If Roy Mudie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Brock Bodimeade to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Bern Pears got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 56 minutes into the game, Neil Pukallus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hagley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Red Devils United the free kick. In the 56th match minute, Hagley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Pukallus to maneuver through the defense. Neil Pukallus hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Brock Bodimeade's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barnes Hunter was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Kevin Pearce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bern Pears in the 64th minute of play. Bruno Arkinstall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bern Pears in the 71st minute of play forced Hagley's goalkeeper Kevin Pearce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Red Devils United's Raymond James got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 79 minutes into the game, Hagley's Ringo Maunsell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Barnes Hunter made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. After 84 minutes, Oliver Kreck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hagley and the Red Devils United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oliver Kreck hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Barnes Hunter was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Brock Bodimeade showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 91 minute of play. Brian Death charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brian Death the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Brian Death kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Byron Macumber shot from long distance in the 96th minute, but Barnes Hunter was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post.
