The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Larry Crampton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Davey Christina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Doyle Newton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Davey Christina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doyle Newton having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Davey Christina's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doyle Newton was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. If Damon Samuels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a left leg Doyle Newton saved Ellam from getting behind. 84 minutes into the game, Toowoomba Snippers's Davey Christina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Doyle Newton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Michael Soekirno hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When Ellam's Larry Crampton in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
