Ellam's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jake Porteus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 9th minute of the match, Larry Crampton tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tobie Feutrill saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tobie Feutrill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryan Favas, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 12 played minutes Ellam got a freekick which was hit by Damon Gronow. Doyle Newton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bryan Potter in the 13th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Mongogarie's goalkeeper Tobie Feutrill had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michael Soekirno. Hal Smee kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Ellam got a freekick which was hit by Damon Gronow. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ellam's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jake Porteus was slow to take the kick. During this time Mongogarie's players had a chance to rest. In the 35th minute of the match, Larry Crampton tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tobie Feutrill saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 42 minutes into the game, Damon Gronow was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ellam's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mongogarie the free kick. Doyle Newton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryan Potter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Larry Crampton hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Bryan Potter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Doyle Newton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jake Porteus to make the kick off. Tobie Feutrill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Larry Crampton in the 76th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Bryan Favas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobie Feutrill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 80 minutes of play Ellam's Damon Gronow was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 82nd minute Mongogarie were awarded a corner. Jake Porteus went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bryan Potter got free with Doyle Newton in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jake Porteus in the 88th minute of play forced Ellam's goalkeeper Doyle Newton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carson Ward's late challenge caught a Mongogarie's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carson Ward helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th match minute, Ellam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carson Ward to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Ellam's Doyle Newton got control of the ball when Hal Smee tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Darell Cusbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hal Norman, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
