Berny Holdsworth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ike Pears in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes into the match, Disco Inferno FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Mamais came free, but Dale Gracey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th match minute, Disco Inferno FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Guevara to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ike Pears in the 7th minute of play forced Maribyrnong FC's goalkeeper Berny Holdsworth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greger Lundkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Berny Holdsworth having to interfere. 11 minutes into the game, Rick Quinane cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Berny Holdsworth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maribyrnong FC's goalkeeper Berny Holdsworth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ike Pears sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Ike Pears made a precise shot to the right of Berny Holdsworth. Maribyrnong FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 23rd minute, Greger Lundkvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maribyrnong FC's Berny Holdsworth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Greger Lundkvist in the 25th minute of play. Jenkins Glover hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Berny Holdsworth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ike Pears, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the game, Disco Inferno FC's Greger Lundkvist nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Berny Holdsworth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Berny Holdsworth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ike Pears went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. 39 minutes into the game, Disco Inferno FC's Remy Neich nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Berny Holdsworth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Aaron Mcmurchie took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Berny Holdsworth. Berny Holdsworth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. After the first half Disco Inferno FC were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ian de Godoi made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Maribyrnong FC's Ian de Godoi got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Berny Holdsworth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ike Pears went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Berny Holdsworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ike Pears, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Berny Holdsworth made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Ike Pears sent off a good shot on target. Berny Holdsworth made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Greger Lundkvist sent off a good shot on target. Ike Pears who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Berny Holdsworth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 72nd minute, Remy Neich ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Berny Holdsworth was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. After some careless play in the Maribyrnong FC defense, Aaron Mcmurchie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Berny Holdsworth. The Maribyrnong FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Berny Holdsworth should have stopped the shot. In the 81st minute Remy Neich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Berny Holdsworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Disco Inferno FC's Greger Lundkvist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Berny Holdsworth. That made the score 0-10 after 85 minutes of play. Remy Neich sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 minutes of play, Disco Inferno FC's Aaron Mcmurchie made it 0-11 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Berny Holdsworth was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rick Quinane might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Berny Holdsworth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rick Quinane ran back to his position shaking his head. Ike Pears hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the game, Rick Quinane recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Berny Holdsworth. Rick Quinane showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-12. Disco Inferno FC played a much better game than Maribyrnong FC and deserved their victory. The Maribyrnong FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
