Spectators: 7600 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stewart Greenbank started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Stratton FC's Lawrance See got control of the ball when Stewart Greenbank tried to sneak it across the goal line. 3 minutes into the match, Alessandro Sacchi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Coventry City FC's Eden Hanslow. Eden Hanslow was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alessandro Sacchi struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Eden Hanslow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stratton FC. Coventry City FC's Eden Hanslow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Warhurst in the 10th minute of play. Stratton FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alberto Sinden in the 11th minute. Eden Hanslow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Sacchi in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 16 minutes, Alessandro Sacchi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stratton FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Sacchi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alessandro Sacchi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Eden Hanslow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alessandro Sacchi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eden Hanslow having to interfere. Eden Hanslow showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Warhurst, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The Coventry City FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eden Hanslow should have stopped the shot. After the first half Stratton FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alessandro Sacchi made a kick off. Stratton FC's Ivan Warhurst got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivan Warhurst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Eden Hanslow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lawrance See took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stewart Greenbank, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Alessandro Sacchi came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Stratton FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessandro Sacchi couldn't finish the play. In the 67th minute, Stewart Greenbank got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Coventry City FC's Jess Fessey got a free kick in the 80th minute. Stratton FC's Dakota Moorby was substituted for Bradshaw Waller. The Stratton FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Stratton FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
