Flavio Vittori made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enzo Bot in the 24th minute. Sostene Vitulli charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sostene Vitulli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sostene Vitulli hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Indiana Jones in the 28th minute of the match. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 54 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Zena Busacca. Diego Portela took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Flavio Vittori. Italy's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Indiana Jones in the 56th minute of play. The supporters of Italy booed when Club El Progreso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bonifacio Txindoki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamin Tino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 59th minute. After taking down the ball on Club El Progreso's corner Diego Portela fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Flavio Vittori quite easily take care of the ball. A very good chance. Italy played a much better game than Club El Progreso and deserved their victory. The Club El Progreso players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
