The Rapid Punta Cana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kurt Rosen should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Kurt Rosen in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the game, Rapid Punta Cana's Patricio Veguri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 75 minutes into the match, Rapid Punta Cana's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Kurt Rosen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kurt Rosen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Kurt Rosen made a huge save. Paul Westerberg made in the 87th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Netherlands's David Eikelkamp. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 93rd minute of play forced Rapid Punta Cana's goalkeeper Kurt Rosen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
