Julian Brudnicki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Vyacheslav Chaban tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 45 minutes, Witomir Borcz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Niwnice's supporters crossed their fingers, but Witomir Borcz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julian Brudnicki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
