Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Allan Corrigan started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alketas Bourouselos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kees Mooiweer made in the 16th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Lars Meesters immediately put the ball in play. Fanis Salepis hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alketas Bourouselos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 27th minute of the match. Panionios MK's Allan Corrigan got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Netherlands were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Wim Wilmes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Alketas Bourouselos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A throw-in in the 59th minute of the game was made by Kees Mooiweer with Wim Wilmes as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 61st minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Alketas Bourouselos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 68th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alketas Bourouselos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alketas Bourouselos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alketas Bourouselos made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th match minute, Panionios MK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Themos Leontiadis to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Panionios MK's Alketas Bourouselos. Alketas Bourouselos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kees Mooiweer hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Alketas Bourouselos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 91st minute. Panionios MK's Omiros Maniatis quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Kees Mooiweer, made in the 94th minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Panionios MK.
