The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alfredão do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After some careless play in the M0RF1G4Z defense, Felipe Barreto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfredão do Nascimento. The M0RF1G4Z fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfredão do Nascimento should have stopped the shot. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Netto in the 7th minute of play. Alfredão do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 15th minute of the match. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Luizinho Quintal sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Claudinho Bezerra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Claudinho Bezerra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Túlio Torres had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Túlio Torres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Netto in the 32nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when René Descartes got free with Wilson Amorim in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th play minute Luizinho Quintal came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Wilson Amorim. 2-1. Faustino Almeida hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

In the 51st minute, Felipe Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felipe Barreto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredão do Nascimento read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Alfredão do Nascimento made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Nuno Netto hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute of the match, Felipinho Amorim got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alfredão do Nascimento was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 92 minutes into the game, René Descartes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Wilson Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Felipinho Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
