Switzerland's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Raul Carulla scored to the left of an out of position Hias Nüssli, making the score, 1-0. Switzerland's Timo Siegmund managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ponce Lerena in the 19 minute of the game. Switzerland's Hias Nüssli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Carulla in the 21st minute of play. Amazonas's Sedeni Horduña was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hias Nüssli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Raul Carulla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hias Nüssli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Leon Dytrych took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuele Kunz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leon Dytrych didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Samuele Kunz went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leon Dytrych stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Maurer's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. 38 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raul Carulla. Roderigo Candura charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roderigo Candura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 44 played minutes Amazonas got a freekick which was hit by Roderigo Candura. Bizi Velandia hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuele Kunz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Switzerland! In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Amazonas. Isidoro Zabarte stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hias Nüssli. 3-1. Amazonas's Raul Carulla got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 63 minutes, Ponce Lerena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Amazonas and the Switzerland players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Amazonas's Ponce Lerena got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Leon Dytrych showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuele Kunz in the 66th minute of the match. Amazonas's Ponce Lerena got his second yellow card of the match in the 67th minute. The referee ordered Ponce Lerena off the ground. 69 minutes into the match, Iratze Canillas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hias Nüssli. Switzerland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iratze Canillas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Hias Nüssli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raul Carulla in the 81st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agustin Malsepica during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Agustin Malsepica hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Leo Allemann hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Switzerland's Jacinto Maurer got a free kick in the 96th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Raul Carulla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Amazonas's supporters rose to their feet, but Raul Carulla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hias Nüssli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Amazonas players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
