River Plate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 10th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Quiroga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Takacs Tibor took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Genaro Quiroga. Genaro Quiroga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The audience was convinced that Antal Valentin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genaro Quiroga was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Fodor Daniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romulo Casado's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Genaro Quiroga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Balazs Lajos in the 31st minute of the match. Fodor Daniel was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Romulo Casado showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 32 minute of play. In the 38th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Traian Mugur to maneuver through the defense. Genaro Quiroga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 40th minute of the match. River Plate's Eleuterio Efraim was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fodor Daniel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antal Valentin made a kick off. Antal Valentin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Genaro Quiroga came out and tried to block the shot, but Antal Valentin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romulo Casado in the 56th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fodor Daniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romulo Casado's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. After 64 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Eleuterio Efraim. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Eleuterio Efraim got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 98th minute, Bakos Endre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The River Plate players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
