Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Romulo Casado started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. With a little luck, Germany's Tommy Kahn got control of the ball when Romulo Casado tried to sneak it across the goal line. The River Plate fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when River Plate's Romulo Casado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Romulo Casado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Genaro Quiroga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, River Plate's Romulo Casado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Romulo Casado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Romulo Casado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Tommy Kahn when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 31st minute, Romulo Casado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Romulo Casado put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tommy Kahn. In the 39th minute, River Plate's Romulo Casado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romulo Casado in the 43rd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romulo Casado in the 52nd minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. River Plate's Remigio Cugat quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Chris Mergenthaler, made in the 55th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Romulo Casado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Romulo Casado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Germany:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of River Plate:s goal. Eleuterio Efraim shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The supporters of River Plate booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. River Plate's Godfredo Rioja was substituted for Eleuterio Efraim. River Plate's Nemesio Azeari was substituted for Erik Albuquerque. River Plate's Henrikh Vartanyan was substituted for Mauricio Tiniebra. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romulo Casado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Romulo Casado put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Tommy Kahn. After 73 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Chris Mergenthaler. In the 76th minute, Romulo Casado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Romulo Casado sped through Germany's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. After 85 minutes of play, River Plate's Romulo Casado made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! Romulo Casado might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Romulo Casado ran back to his position shaking his head. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romulo Casado in the 89th minute of play. River Plate's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
