In the 5th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adam Matysek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes FC Gdansk36's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Olisadebe in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Marek Kluczyk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC Gdansk36's Ziemowit Fafinski got a free kick in the 21st minute. Witomir Kochanowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. Adam Matysek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th match minute, FC Gdansk36 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ziemowit Fafinski to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute, Jan Olisadebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wim Wilmes scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adam Matysek, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Witomir Kochanowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Gdansk36's supporters rose to their feet, but Witomir Kochanowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to FC Gdansk36 getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Jan Olisadebe hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 41st minute of play forced FC Gdansk36's goalkeeper Adam Matysek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Adam Matysek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Witomir Kochanowski came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iggi Kot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, FC Gdansk36's Adam Matysek got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iggi Kot, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 58th minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Adam Matysek was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adam Matysek saved FC Gdansk36 from getting behind. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after FC Gdansk36's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. The corner ended in David Eikelkamp almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Gdansk36's Adam Matysek did a great save. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iggi Kot in the 66th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Iggi Kot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Adam Matysek made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Gdansk36's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner.
