The supporters of Netherlands booed when Black horses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. 김 감 didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdis Felbergs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 10th minute of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 11th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cipriano Sauveur got free with Arnout Reekers in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdis Felbergs having to interfere. 20 minutes into the game, Cipriano Sauveur cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 25 minutes Netherlands's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kristiāns Princāns who took care of the corner kick. Black horses's Kristiāns Princāns was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnout Reekers in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Valdis Felbergs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Black horses's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Lars Meesters managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 39 minutes Netherlands's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kristiāns Princāns who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Kristiāns Princāns almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers did a great save. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakub Swierczok in the 40th minute of play. Valdis Felbergs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdis Felbergs was left in no man's land by his defense there! Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jakub Swierczok in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Valdis Felbergs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jakub Swierczok in the 58th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Valdis Felbergs made a huge save. Black horses's Bērtulis Ludbergs was substituted for Mpenza Setlaba. In the 70th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdis Felbergs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Valdis Felbergs was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mathijn Doctor hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Balvis Kiberkalns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Black horses's Valdis Felbergs got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jakub Swierczok took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. The audience was convinced that Atso Joenväärä's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 83rd minute of play forced Black horses's goalkeeper Valdis Felbergs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Valdis Felbergs in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Sauveur in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Black horses's Cipriano Sauveur nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. After having played for 95 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
