But to his dismay, Borjan Golubovic quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 18 played minutes Serbia got a freekick which was hit by Momir Gisic. The long shot by Bardain McTom in the 19th minute really tested Zvezdan Nedeljkovic's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 20 minutes into the match, Sreten Popovic had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pembroke Gallagher. Galway Cowboys's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sreten Popovic was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 26th minute, Vladeta Jovic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beccan Tierney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Boethis Tracy charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boethis Tracy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Galway Cowboys's Boethis Tracy got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 38th match minute, Serbia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sreten Popovic to maneuver through the defense. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boethis Tracy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Boethis Tracy fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Momir Gisic kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. If Boethis Tracy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Galway Cowboys players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Serbia were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sreten Popovic was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bivadi Gallagher in the 51st minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Galway Cowboys booed when Serbia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sreten Popovic didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Vladeta Jovic managed to get in a good position for a shot. Serbia's supporters rose to their feet, but Vladeta Jovic was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pembroke Gallagher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boethis Tracy scored 1-3 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beanon Tierney, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
