Hjalmar Backlund showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 26 minutes into the match, The Swedish Nightmare's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Vanderstraeten came free, but Edgar Åström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Belgium fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 45 minutes, Lenny Clocheret mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Belgium and the The Swedish Nightmare players grew even worse after the yellow card.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Niklas Ekeberg made a kick off. The Swedish Nightmare's Edgar Åström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 54th minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 79 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Belgium's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Vanderstraeten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, The Swedish Nightmare's goalkeeper Edgar Åström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edward Vanderstraeten.
