A collision led to Spain getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Adria Bielsa hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Spain's Omar Toledo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bennvar Noobel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 14th minute of the match Spain got a corner. Seraċini Għawdxin's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Omar Toledo ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 17th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bennvar Noobel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fernando Negro struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Gabriel Ascaso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Seraċini Għawdxin. 30 minutes into the match, Spain's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Negro came free, but Gabriel Ascaso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the game, Seraċini Għawdxin's Fernando Negro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gabriel Ascaso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. David Aranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bennvar Noobel having to interfere. Seraċini Għawdxin's Bennvar Noobel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adria Bielsa in the 37th minute of play. Bennvar Noobel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Aranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Ascaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Jansson in the 44th minute of the match. Gabriel Ascaso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Jansson in the 46th minute. Adria Bielsa might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bennvar Noobel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adria Bielsa ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adria Bielsa in the 47th minute of play forced Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Bennvar Noobel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Omar Toledo made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Omar Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bennvar Noobel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, David Aranda cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Bennvar Noobel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Jansson in the 61st minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Seraċini Għawdxin were awarded a corner in the 62th minute after Spain's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Neil Degabriele took the corner. Song Wei Yun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabriel Ascaso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. With a little luck, Seraċini Għawdxin's Bennvar Noobel got control of the ball when Omar Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adria Bielsa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bennvar Noobel came out and tried to block the shot, but Adria Bielsa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 68th minute. Spain's Carles Cherro was substituted for Omar Toledo. Bennvar Noobel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adria Bielsa in the 77th minute of play. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrea Pirlo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, Song Wei Yun notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Spain's Gabriel Ascaso. Gabriel Ascaso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bennvar Noobel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Ruiz in the 92nd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goalkeeper Bennvar Noobel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carles Cherro. In the 94th minute, Carles Cherro fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Bennvar Noobel. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Spain's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. Spain were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
