Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonatan Bortzaioriz having to make a save. 5 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonatan Bortzaioriz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 14th minute of the match Belgium got a corner. Cañada Juniors's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edward Vanderstraeten ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cañada Juniors's goalie and right to Simon Sabbe. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cañada Juniors's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jonatan Bortzaioriz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Vanderstraeten went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 22 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Cañada Juniors's Jonatan Bortzaioriz. Jonatan Bortzaioriz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Jaunzuria in the 26th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Belgium's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Frank Lembeck was slow to take the kick. During this time Cañada Juniors's players had a chance to rest. Jonatan Bortzaioriz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Vanderstraeten went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. When Adolfo Batista came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Cañada Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adolfo Batista couldn't finish the play. In the 42nd match minute, Cañada Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Bernabel to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Siebe Michiels hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 46th minute of play forced Cañada Juniors's goalkeeper Jonatan Bortzaioriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Belgium were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Edward Vanderstraeten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonatan Bortzaioriz came out and tried to block the shot, but Edward Vanderstraeten slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 55th minute. In the 62nd minute Frank Lembeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonatan Bortzaioriz made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 68th minute of play forced Cañada Juniors's goalkeeper Jonatan Bortzaioriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz made a huge save. Vladimiro Bernabel hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz made a huge save. Nemesio Cesaro hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Laurens Vandamme hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonatan Bortzaioriz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. Nigel Devos hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute of the match Frank Lembeck shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Casper Claes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The Cañada Juniors supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Belgium's performance. The match ended with a win for Belgium.
