In the 36th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaša Fašalek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaaf Groeneveldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jaša Fašalek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. Jaša Fašalek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 39th minute of the match. Eagle Stars FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wim Wilmes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After having played for 61 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Jaša Fašalek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 82nd minute. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zygmunt Falkowski in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Mikolaj Budacz came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Eagle Stars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Jaša Fašalek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
