SIGHET -MM-'s Constantin Ţăranu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Metod Mlynar in the 4th minute of play. Panait Aldescu made in the 7th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Slovakia's Vavrinec Koleno. When Emanuel Cristache fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.I.L. SIGHET -MM-'s protests and gave Emanuel Cristache a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Slovakia booed when C.I.L. SIGHET -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Cristache didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Cristache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Henrich Slany made a huge save. A collision led to C.I.L. SIGHET -MM- getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Valeriu Fundătoreanu hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Albeanu in the 46th minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Henrich Slany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Henrich Slany breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 87 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Zigmund Maliar. In the 95th match minute, Slovakia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zigmund Maliar to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Slovakia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
