An unexpectedly hard shot by Hilmi Uyaralp in the 11th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 37th minute of play forced Otomasyon Gençlik F.K.'s goalkeeper Mehmet Halis Mutlusoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Mehmet Halis Mutlusoy threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wim Wilmes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 92nd match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egbert Nijveldt to maneuver through the defense.
