The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kornel Jahoda helped the player get up and apologised. Dorjan Budal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrich Slany having to interfere. Naim Stanišič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Metod Mlynar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Metod Mlynar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sreta Gorše having to interfere. If Oliver Holub had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the match, Dorjan Budal notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Slovakia's Henrich Slany. Henrich Slany was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Henrich Slany didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 35th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. Rašid Uršič could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Henrich Slany made a huge save. Bayer Leverkusen's Naim Stanišič got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Dorjan Budal made the kick off in the second half. Dorjan Budal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Henrich Slany tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 53 minutes into the match, Naim Stanišič had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrich Slany. Slovakia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Naim Stanišič was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. If Naim Stanišič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vít Biskup kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Dorjan Budal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Naim Stanišič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrich Slany having to interfere. Lazar Topolovec hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Henrich Slany showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorjan Budal in the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naim Stanišič in the 68th minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Henrich Slany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lazar Topolovec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naim Stanišič in the 72nd minute of play. Rašid Uršič struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Henrich Slany didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bayer Leverkusen. Naim Stanišič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Henrich Slany tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 81 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Vavrinec Koleno. Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naim Stanišič in the 83rd minute of play. Dorjan Budal took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henrich Slany. Henrich Slany dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. 94 minutes into the match, Bayer Leverkusen's goalkeeper Sreta Gorše had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Metod Mlynar. The supporters of Bayer Leverkusen booed when Slovakia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kornel Jahoda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bayer Leverkusen walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
