Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Zaccheo Andolina started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Flavio Vittori made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Angelo Milanese sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Italy's zone, Guy Rothe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal and Guy Rothe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Titz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Italy's Flavio Vittori got control of the ball when Angelo Milanese tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sebastian Titz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zaccheo Andolina's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 26th minute of play. Sebastian Titz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 30th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Sebastian Titz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Sydney FC defense, Zaccheo Andolina kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sebastian Titz. The Sydney FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastian Titz should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Sydney FC's Per Stiig Beisel was substituted for Bjarne Nievelstein. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Ogășanu to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Italy's Sigfrido Auletta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sebastian Titz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Porziano Marchitelli ran back to his position shaking his head. Ludwig Hanstein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Italy's Siricio Liotta managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ferdinand Mendy in the 80 minute of the game. Zaccheo Andolina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sebastian Titz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 81st minute of the match. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Titz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sebastian Titz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adriano Curto went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The Italy players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
