Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 彭渊昆 in the 4th minute of play. 彭渊昆 charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed 彭渊昆 the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 6 played minutes 上海申花SVA got a freekick which was hit by 彭渊昆. Fred Hamilton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zvezdan Nedeljkovic having to interfere. Fred Hamilton succeeded in the game's 11th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. 17 minutes in the game 王明翔 did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to 武天帆. After 20 minutes of play, 上海申花SVA's Fred Hamilton made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was left in no man's land by his defense there! The nice shot from Fred Hamilton in the 23rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Sreten Popovic recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Serbia booed when 上海申花SVA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. 武天帆 didn't get a good kick on the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Miljan Gavrilovic in the 41st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by 上海申花SVA's 范广竞. After 46 minutes, 范广竞 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 上海申花SVA and the Serbia players grew even worse after the yellow card. 范广竞 hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, 上海申花SVA's goal looked a bit too open when Sreten Popovic came free, but 石斐克 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sreten Popovic stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Serbia were awarded a corner. Sreten Popovic went to the cornerflag to take it. After having played for 56 minutes, Fred Hamilton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 上海申花SVA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fred Hamilton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 60 minutes into the game, 王明翔 threw the ball into play from the sideline. Serbia's Rasko Nestorovski quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fred Hamilton in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zvezdan Nedeljkovic prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Hamilton in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fidelio Kiener in the 69th minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fidelio Kiener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 彭海青 lost his temper 73 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 74 played minutes 上海申花SVA got a freekick which was hit by 彭海青. Sreten Popovic in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of 石斐克, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fidelio Kiener went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Sreten Popovic managed to get in a good position for a shot. Serbia's supporters rose to their feet, but Sreten Popovic was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 石斐克 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Serbia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for 上海申花SVA.
