André Cordeiro's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Cordeiro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, 20 de Abril's André Cordeiro got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mané Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When André Cordeiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 12 minutes had been played. After 13 played minutes 20 de Abril got a freekick which was hit by André Cordeiro. 13 minutes into the match, 20 de Abril's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Mané Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Wim Wilmes. In the 19th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a precise shot to the right of Mané Netto. 20 de Abril's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Mané Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 24th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, one of 20 de Abril:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Gijsbert ter Kruimer placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 34 minutes into the match, 20 de Abril's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Mané Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mané Netto. Mané Netto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Mané Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 39th minute of play. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. 20 de Abril's Mané Netto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save 20 de Abril from getting a goal against them. Mané Netto came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Mané Netto made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands's Kees Mooiweer was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mané Netto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 66 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mané Netto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Mané Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. When Eduardo Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 20 de Abril's protests and gave Eduardo Maranhense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 72nd minute, Eduardo Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 de Abril's Mané Netto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save 20 de Abril from getting a goal against them. 77 minutes into the match, 20 de Abril's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Mané Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 minutes 20 de Abril's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Netherlands's Lars Meesters was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mané Netto in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, 20 de Abril's Mané Netto got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Álvaro de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Mané Netto made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mané Netto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lars Meesters showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 87 minute of play. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than 20 de Abril throughout the match.
