The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Iustin Coporan sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Vasile Mumuleanu took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Wilson Amorim to make any attempt to save it. In the 9th minute of the match, Iustin Coporan got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wilson Amorim was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 11 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Vasile Mumuleanu came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Lauria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Andrade in the 16th minute of the match. Frank Lauria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Portugal booed when Champions Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alo Ülend didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Barreto struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Frank Lauria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portugal.
