Denmark's Olav Graversen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. JK Sultan's Jüri Vanakool played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 10th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kenn Skou during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kenn Skou kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Chris Nygaard struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Jüri Vanakool didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. The supporters of Denmark booed when JK Sultan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Arenius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janari Veiderma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Janari Veiderma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Chris Nygaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 52nd minute of the game. One of JK Sultan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Denmark:s goal. Chris Nygaard shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 54th minute, Mati Jürisoo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jüri Vanakool stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chris Nygaard's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After 58 minutes JK Sultan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Chris Nygaard who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Chris Nygaard got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jüri Vanakool quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Kenn Skou kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Denmark's Chris Nygaard got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bertram Svenningsen in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jüri Vanakool, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A throw-in in the 77th minute of the game was made by Gualterio Matteo with Robert Nurmsalu as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Karl Arenius's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Karl Arenius helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, JK Sultan's Karl Arenius got a free kick in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 93rd minute of play forced JK Sultan's goalkeeper Jüri Vanakool to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Chris Nygaard fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denmark's protests and gave Chris Nygaard a yellow card for diving instead. Chris Nygaard hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
