Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) FC POLI TIMISOARA's Emilian Tărău started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Irinel Breazu got free with Ilija Skugor in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6thth minute of the game Toni Mauzer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC POLI TIMISOARA's Cazimir Marincean was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cazimir Marincean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toni Mauzer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Croatia's Ilija Skugor got control of the ball when Emilian Tărău tried to sneak it across the goal line. Damir Pongrac received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Cazimir Marincean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Croatia's Ilija Skugor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Croatia from getting a goal against them. Robert Nestor took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ilija Skugor. Ilija Skugor dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilian Tărău got free with Ilija Skugor in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cazimir Marincean came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Croatia's Toni Mauzer. But to his dismay, Toni Mauzer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Ilija Skugor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nistor Oroian in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Emilian Tărău left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC POLI TIMISOARA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Maghear, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Croatia's Ilija Skugor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irinel Breazu in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th play minute Emilian Tărău came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ilija Skugor. 4-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martin Bosak was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Croatia's Damir Pongrac got a free kick in the 54th minute. Toni Mauzer kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Ilija Skugor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cazimir Săvescu in the 57th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, Emilian Tărău had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilija Skugor. Croatia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emilian Tărău was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichifor Benga, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Ilija Skugor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Irinel Breazu in the 65th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Damir Pongrac during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Damir Pongrac kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Maghear, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Croatia's Benjamin Domazet got a free kick in the 74th minute. Toni Mauzer charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toni Mauzer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 76 played minutes Croatia got a freekick which was hit by Toni Mauzer. Croatia's Ilija Skugor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Săvescu in the 81st minute of play. Cazimir Marincean was out of position in the 85 minute of play, and Damir Pongrac capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Damir Pongrac really showed his touch with that goal: 5-2. Ilija Skugor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panait Nicoliță, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cazimir Săvescu in the 97th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC POLI TIMISOARA had played much better football throughout.
