In the 8th minute, Wim Wilmes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Yin Cheng Han made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 13th minute of play. After 15 minutes of play, Netherlands's David Eikelkamp made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yin Cheng Han was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt made a precise shot to the right of Yin Cheng Han. Independiente del Río's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Yin Cheng Han took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yin Cheng Han saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Lars Meesters had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Yin Cheng Han. Independiente del Río's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lars Meesters was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Emanuel Sueiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Arnout Reekers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Independiente del Río got a freekick which was hit by Machado Santianes. Yin Cheng Han made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 59th minute. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 60th minute. Independiente del Río's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Wim Wilmes scored to the left of an out of position Yin Cheng Han, making the score, 0-5. 79 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yin Cheng Han made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. In the 83rd minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Yin Cheng Han was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rogelio Sarratea kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Yin Cheng Han showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 96th minute of the match. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
