After taking down the ball on Germany's corner Frank Sachs fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dobromir Szarmach quite easily take care of the ball. In the 17th minute Jeremias Lehoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dobromir Szarmach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 40th minute of play. Laureano Primeiro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 45thth minute, Tommy Kahn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jeremias Lehoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Germany booed when • REGINA • was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Fanuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Sachs took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dobromir Szarmach. • REGINA •'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 64th minute, Laureano Primeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baldomero Emenon took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn.
