Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Viriato Moura started the match with the kick off. The supporters of NYC United booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Pimentel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Rigoberto Ceandro sent off a good shot on target. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bumin Mete in the 6th minute of play. After some careless play in the NYC United defense, Viriato Moura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Domingo Bide. The NYC United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Domingo Bide should have stopped the shot. Rigoberto Ceandro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. A collision led to NYC United getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Marcelo Gaspard hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, NYC United's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Pimentel came free, but Domingo Bide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Rigoberto Ceandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Bumin Mete came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bumin Mete in the 24th minute of play. After 24 minutes of play, NYC United's Bumin Mete made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bumin Mete did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Wilson Amorim 26 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingo Bide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 36th minute of play forced NYC United's goalkeeper Domingo Bide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. NYC United's Domingo Bide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 38th minute of play. Wilson Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rigoberto Ceandro in the 41st minute. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Felipe Barreto hit a great ball. Melchor Carlomagno came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wilson Amorim could save by the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rigoberto Ceandro made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipe Barreto got free with Domingo Bide in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Domingo Bide made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by NYC United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Felipe Barreto was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. Domingo Bide didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Viriato Moura went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Felipe Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Domingo Bide made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Felipe Barreto sent off a good shot on target. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bumin Mete, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bumin Mete, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute.
