Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Reinaldo McCormick got the match started through his kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Flame Throwers's zone, Major Barna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldo Helton came out of the goal and Major Barna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waldo Helton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antal Valentin in the 8th minute of play. In the 14th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. Antal Valentin made a great header on Hungary's corner, it was just that Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton managed to reach the ball for a save. Waldo Helton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Major Barna in the 16th minute of the match. Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 20th minute of play. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Waldo Helton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hungary's Antal Valentin got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 31st minute of play forced Flame Throwers's goalkeeper Waldo Helton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo McCormick in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. Flame Throwers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mickey Velasco in the 35th minute. In the 39th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldo Helton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Dave Paris could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Fodor Daniel however easily saved by the left post. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Antal Valentin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A well-hit corner resulted in Scotty Dietz heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When Aurelio Benson fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flame Throwers's protests and gave Aurelio Benson a yellow card for diving instead. When Major Barna came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Major Barna couldn't finish the play. 62 minutes into the match, Flame Throwers's goalkeeper Waldo Helton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. 66 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Waldo Helton, 0-1. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reinaldo McCormick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Flame Throwers's Waldo Helton got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Balazs Lajos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 77th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Antal Valentin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Hungary's Major Barna getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Hungary booed when Flame Throwers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darryl Arellano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Scotty Dietz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Reinaldo McCormick came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Hungary could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Flame Throwers throughout the match.
