Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Văn 吕布 to make the kick off. Gabriel Ascaso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Văn 吕布, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sverker Hydén in the 84th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 86 minutes, Carles Cherro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spain's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carles Cherro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Spain could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Stakbröte throughout the match.
