The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Belgium defense, Barnaba Kajder kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casper Claes. The Belgium fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casper Claes should have stopped the shot. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barnaba Kajder in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saverio Bilbo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Società Vigata Calcio were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Belgium's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Carter Picozzi took the corner. 16 minutes into the game, Fabricio Larpe threw the ball into play from the sideline. Belgium's Guillaume Bonte quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 17 minutes into the match, Belgium's Yves Dervaux sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Saverio Bilbo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Saverio Bilbo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 19th minute of the match. Società Vigata Calcio's Saverio Bilbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 23rd minute of play. Barnaba Kajder struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Casper Claes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Società Vigata Calcio. Fabricio Larpe made in the 34th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Belgium's Guillaume Bonte. 37 minutes into the game, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saverio Bilbo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barnaba Kajder, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After 44 minutes Belgium's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Carter Picozzi who took care of the corner kick. Società Vigata Calcio's Saverio Bilbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yves Dervaux in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. Edward Vanderstraeten's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 52ndth minute, Saverio Bilbo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Edward Vanderstraeten had several of the Società Vigata Calcio's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 74 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Saverio Bilbo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Edward Vanderstraeten had several of the Società Vigata Calcio's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 77 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-4 score and a disappointed Saverio Bilbo as he didn't even see the shot coming. 80 minutes into the match, Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Vito Corleone came free, but Casper Claes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Società Vigata Calcio's Saverio Bilbo got control of the ball when Edward Vanderstraeten tried to sneak it across the goal line. Belgium played a much better game than Società Vigata Calcio and deserved their victory. The Società Vigata Calcio players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
