Bermejo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Jerrald was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Bermejo's zone, Metod Mlynar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aaron Lapurdi came out of the goal and Metod Mlynar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Bermejo's Caco Uchiha in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Slovakia's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Oliver Holub got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Slovakia's Kornel Jahoda got a free kick in the 15th minute. When Jimeno Gizon fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bermejo's protests and gave Jimeno Gizon a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 played minutes Bermejo got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Gizon. Slovakia's attentive Kornel Jahoda managed to snatch the ball when Silvestre Maurin made a throw-in in the 18th minute of the game. Oliver Holub sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pavol Koleno got free with Aaron Lapurdi in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute Francisco Jerrald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrich Slany saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco Uchiha in the 30th minute of play. Henrich Slany made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco Uchiha in the 32nd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Slovakia's Metod Mlynar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aaron Lapurdi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Slovakia getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Vavrinec Koleno hit a great ball. In the 38th match minute, Bermejo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvestre Maurin to maneuver through the defense. Aaron Lapurdi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Metod Mlynar in the 40th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Metod Mlynar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aaron Lapurdi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Metod Mlynar went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 61 minutes, Metod Mlynar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A collision led to Slovakia getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Metod Mlynar hit a great ball. Francisco Jerrald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrich Slany having to interfere. Bermejo's Aaron Lapurdi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Metod Mlynar in the 76th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Caco Uchiha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrich Slany. Slovakia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caco Uchiha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Henrich Slany showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caco Uchiha, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Slovakia's Metod Mlynar got his second yellow card of the match in the 89th minute. The referee ordered Metod Mlynar off the ground. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Fiz in the 95th minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Henrich Slany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bermejo's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Slovakia had won, even though Bermejo had held more of the ball.
