Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Lars Meesters was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nando Toscano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Ramiro Messias tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Abeijon in the 11th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Escuadrón Mercenario's Nando Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute Estevon Abancens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Escuadrón Mercenario's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Nando Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nando Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th match minute, Escuadrón Mercenario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramiro Messias to maneuver through the defense. 30 minutes into the match, Escuadrón Mercenario's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Nando Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 played minutes Escuadrón Mercenario got a freekick which was hit by Amauri Campidelis. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Nando Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nando Toscano was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Escuadrón Mercenario's goalkeeper Nando Toscano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Escuadrón Mercenario's Nando Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 42nd minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After having played for 56 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Estevon Abancens had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Estevon Abancens was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Nando Toscano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Nando Toscano threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 71 minutes into the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nando Toscano. Nando Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Peli Abalos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Escuadrón Mercenario's Nando Toscano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Escuadrón Mercenario from getting a goal against them. Nando Toscano was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Gustaaf Groeneveldt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 minutes of play, Escuadrón Mercenario's Ramiro Messias made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
