Stéphane Brault stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wim Wilmes's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tytus Dudkowski in the 40th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stéphane Brault having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gijsbert ter Kruimer to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute of the match, Lars Meesters tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Stéphane Brault saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Stéphane Brault proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Pepsi Fuchibol Clu from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Centurión in the 76th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stéphane Brault saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Netherlands supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Netherlands would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
