The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ariel Alfonso during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 42 played minutes Sinbosteros got a freekick which was hit by Ariel Alfonso.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ariel Alfonso in the 80th minute of the match. Frank Sachs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximiliano Tab having to interfere. The Germany supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Germany would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
